Maintenance and Appreciation of Historical Buildings Launching Ceremony

The closing ceremony of the "Maintenance and Appreciation of Historical Buildings" has invited Mr Ivanhoe CHANG Chi-ho, Commissioner for Heritage, Development Bureau, HKSAR Government, Sr Edwin TANG, the former President of the HKIS, Sr Vincent HO Kui-yip, MH, JP, Convenor of HKIS Heritage Working Group, Ms Clarice YU Po-mei, JP, Director of Buildings, Buildings Department, HKSAR Government and Sr Alan SIN Kwok-leung, Assistant Director (Property Services) of Architectural Services Department to attend.

The Organising Committee of HKIS’s “Maintenance and Appreciation of Historical Buildings” successfully completed a series of exciting and interesting activities. Guided tours, workshops, competitions and forums organised by the HKIS in the past two years had received an overwhelming response from the general public. The public could learn about the aesthetic and conservative value of historical buildings, and understand the importance of timely maintenance of these buildings. Due to the pandemic, the last round of the guided tour of this year had adopted the format of online video broadcast. The first video introducing the Cheung Ancestral Hall of Shan Ha Tsuen was played during the Closing Ceremony. The videos featuring I Shing Temple in Wang Chau and the Tang Ancestral Hall in Ha Tsuen were launched on the official YouTube chanel of "Maintenance and Appreciation of Historical Buildings".
