A series of activities is unveiled to conserve historical buildings.
Some of the Hong Kong's most valuable historical buildings are in dilapidated state due to city development. The HKIS would love to promote the concept and knowledge of conserving historical buildings to the public through the activities of "Maintenance and Appreciation of Historical Buildings". We also encourage the local community to participate more in protection, promotion, inheritance and reactivation, which help revive the old buildings. The local colors, historical and cultural characteristics of the district can hence be reappeared. A series of events, including guided tours, workshops, competitions and professional forums, are planned to be launched this year to promote historical building conservation and appreciation to the public.
